tamam.be for Tradespeople: How It Works and Why the Model Is Fair
No subscription, no paying per lead, never more than five pros per job. How tamam.be works for Belgian tradespeople, from KBO verification to escrow payment.

If you run a small building or installation business in Belgium, you probably know the lead-platform routine. You pay for a request, then find out that four or five competitors bought the same phone number. You call first, the homeowner has already chosen someone, and the money is gone. tamam.be was built around a different idea: you only pay when a job actually goes ahead. This article explains how the platform works from the tradesperson's side, step by step, and why we think the model is fair.
Getting started: a profile that proves who you are
Signing up is free. You create a profile with your business name, your KBO number, your specialties, the area you work in and the languages you speak. You can pick up to 20 categories, from plumbing and electrical work to roofing, insulation, heat pumps, kitchens, bathrooms and garden work. tamam.be covers more than 40 services across Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia.
Then comes verification. Your KBO number is checked against the official register and your VAT number via the European VIES system. The verification is shown on your public profile, so homeowners can see you are a real, registered business. You can also upload insurance certificates, qualifications and identification; these documents are stored encrypted.
How jobs reach you
A homeowner describes a job in a few sentences, with photos or even a voice message. tamam.be's matching then builds a shortlist of at most 15 suitable professionals, based on things like category, service area and track record. The ranking never uses personal data about the homeowner.
From that shortlist, five pros are invited at a time. If someone does not respond, the next one on the list moves up. That rule matters more than it sounds:
- Never more than five pros at the same time. You are not one of twenty people calling the same homeowner.
- The limit cannot be bought away. No competitor can pay to jump the queue or get more access.
- tamam.be does not sell requests or contact details to third parties.
Before you commit, you see the job and the municipality. The homeowner's address is only shared with the professional they choose, which protects the customer and keeps the process calm for everyone.
Quoting, chatting and getting chosen
You send a quote through the platform. The homeowner sees the total including VAT and can compare it with up to four other quotes in the same format. Questions go through the built-in chat, so you can clarify scope before the price is final. Quotes are non-binding until the homeowner accepts one.
A tip from how homeowners compare: they read scope against price. A quote that clearly lists what is included, what is not, the timing and the materials usually beats a quote that is just a bit cheaper but vague.
Payment through escrow
When the homeowner accepts your quote, they pay through the platform by Visa, Mastercard, Bancontact or SEPA. The money is held in escrow: it is secured before you start, but released to you only after the homeowner confirms the job is done. If they do not respond, the payment is released automatically after seven days. If there is a disagreement, tamam.be mediates, and the payment stays in escrow while the dispute runs.
For a tradesperson, that means no more chasing invoices for weeks, and a customer who knows their money is protected is often more relaxed about saying yes.
What it costs: a success fee, nothing else
This is the heart of the model. There is no subscription and no cost per request or per quote. You pay only when a job actually goes ahead: a success fee of 3% of the job amount, with a minimum of β¬39 and a maximum of β¬399, including VAT. The fee is deducted from your payout, so there is no separate invoice to track.
Compare that with paying for leads you may never win. On tamam.be, if you do not get the job, it cost you nothing but the time to write a quote. The current conditions are always on the tamam.be pricing page.
Reviews you can actually trust
Only customers who paid through the platform can leave a review, and only after the payment has been released. That rules out fake reviews from people who never hired you. Ratings are also weighted by the number of reviews: a single five-star review counts less than a hundred reviews averaging 4.8. New professionals start neutral, so you are not punished for being new, and a strong track record builds up with every completed job.
Is tamam.be a fit for your business?
It works best for independent tradespeople and small firms who:
- want a steady flow of local jobs without a marketing budget;
- prefer to pay for results rather than for leads;
- are properly registered and want that to count in their favour;
- work in one or more of Belgium's languages; the platform itself is available in seven.
